The Finnish government has outlined measures in the event of a coronavirus, COVID-19.  For us, the policies mean that contact teaching is interrupted and units are closed for a specified period.

OSAO will suspend contact teaching for the period 17.3.2020 – 13.4.2020. Instead of contact teaching, instruction and guidance are organized as widely as possible in alternative ways, including distance learning, utilizing different digital learning environments and solutions and, where appropriate, independent study. We contact the students from the education units and agree on teaching and guidance in accordance with the Personal Competence Development Plan (HOKS) for the duration of the distance learning.

On-the-job learning and apprenticeships will continue in the workplace unless otherwise specified by the workplace.

If you suspect you have the coronavirus, stay home if you have mild symptoms.

If your overall condition gets worse, call Oulu University Hospital’s health guidance helpline on 08 315 2655.

It is important to call before you arrive to protect others from possible exposure.

The national helpline assists you at 029 553 5535 on weekdays 8:00 –21:00 and on Saturdays 9:00 –15:00. The helpline provides general information on coronavirus but does not provide health counselling or guidance in case of acute symptoms.
